Tehran metro lines map

One of the cheapest and quickest ways of transportation in Tehran is metro. More than 3 million passengers travel by subway every day. Five lines are active from 5 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. one of which links Karaj, a neighboring big city, to Tehran. If you want to travel by metro, you can buy a one-way ticket with 600 Tomans (6000 Rials), or a two-way ticket with 1000 Tomans (10000 Rials). However, for those who plan on staying longer, we suggest Shahrvandi Metro card. You can charge them and for each journey you will be charged only 300 Tomans (3000 Rials).
Line 1 whose color is red is about 28 kilometers long linking Tajrish Station in the north to Kahrizak in the south. The maximum speed of trains is 80 km per hour. There is an extension to this line that goes to Imam Khomeini International Airport which is currently under construction. You can use this line if you are planning on visiting Saad-Abad Palace, Niyavaran Palace, Ferdows Garden, Cinema Museum, Dr. Hesabi Museum, Tajrish Bazar, Gaem Bazar, Golestan Palace, Serkis Church, Khanat Karvansara, Iranian Garden, and beautiful nature of Darband and Darake.
Line 2 whose color is Dark Blue connects Sadegiye station in the west to Farhang Sara in the east. You should take this line if you want to visit Masoudiye Mansion, Negarestan Mansion which is in Baharestan Square, Grand Bazar of Tehran, Moslem Kabbabi which serves memorable kebabs, beautiful Hasan Abad Square, Mogadam Museum.
Line 3 is one of the most significant lines as it links southwest to northeast. This line leads to the railway station that goes to different cities of Iran.
Line 4 whose color is yellow is around 22 kilometers long with 18 stations connecting Eram-e-Sabz with Kolah Dowz. If you want to go to Engelab Street, you can use this line. Places to visit like Azadi Tower, City Theater, as well as Ferdowsi Square which is the exchanging center are on this line. If you want to go to Chitgar Lake, you should go to Eram-e-Sabz station and take line 5.
Line 5 whose color is green is around 43 kilometers connecting Karaj and Golshahr. It is linked with Sadegiye and Eram-e-sabz stations.
Line 6 and 7 are under construction.
